Include the full link

The capsule lives in the part of the link after #, and we never receive or store it. Without the whole link — everything after # included — we have no way to identify the capsule.

What we can and can't do

• We read every report, usually within 2 business days.
• We can disable it on our site. We add a fingerprint (a SHA-256 hash) of the reported capsule to a blocklist that ships with the app. Browsers check it before opening anything, and a disabled capsule shows “This capsule has been disabled on Ripenote following a report.” on ripenote.com.
• We can't delete copies elsewhere. We never store capsules, so we can't remove copies of the link or file held by other people, and the ciphertext can still be opened with other tlock-compatible tools.
• We can't read it before its date. Nobody can — that's the point. We act on what the report tells us and on what is visible (such as the title and names), not on the sealed message.
• We may pass reports to the appropriate authorities where required by law.

Urgent danger

If someone is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first. To report child sexual abuse material, also contact your national hotline (for example, the NCMEC CyberTipline in the US or the IWF in the UK).
